Welcome to Amelia and Jayne

Now that summer is in full swing, it’s the perfect time to start our newest adventure!

Welcome to Amelia and Jayne, a lifestyle blog co-written by two sisters who could not be more different.

Amelia lives in Toronto and loves history, fashion, museums and culture, while Jayne lives in Vancouver and loves photography, storytelling and film.

We do have a few things in common: our love of good food, the excitement of new beginnings and a fondness of friends and family. Together we hope to share that life comes in many different forms and we can all find happiness somehow.

We do not follow any particular diet or lifestyle. While we both eat a mostly plant based diets, you will see picks/recipes for meat as well, especially when family is involved. We enjoy different kinds of exercise and have different ways of experiencing life.

Join us here and help us build a community that supports all types of people and all types of lifestyles. We hope you will comment and particulate, and let us know what subjects you would like us to explore.

    1. Yes! It’s such a great city. Places to eat…. The Wallflower on Main Street, East is East, also on Main Street. Chambar for breakfast on Beaty street. The Twisted Fork for Breakfast and Granville St. Sandbar on Granville Island for seafood. Cafe Luxy on Davie street for Italian Food. Wow, there are so many to choose from! Locus on Main Street is awesome for any meal of the day. Sophie’s cosmic cafe on 4th for your good old fashioned diner meals with flare. Also on 4th is Fable for breakfast. Chewys in Kitsilano for the best Caesars you could ever imagine. I could go on and on. There are so many places to eat!

As for things to do… Walk around the seawall, Granville Island for all your art needs, Gastown is really cool for little stores for tea and health products. Lynn Valley Suspension bridge and hike. If you have time, see what’s playing at the Arts Club or Queen Elizabeth theatre for always entertaining theatre productions and buy tickets in advance. If you’re into beer, Vancouver has about a hundred craft breweries. For shopping, check out Main street. It goes on and one with tons of great stores. Like 8th and Main! My favourite place to shop.

I hope that gives you some great ideas. Check out ‘Scout Magazine’ and the ‘Daily Hive’ for Vancouver news for new restaurants and upcoming events. It might give you some amazing ideas for what’s happening while you’re there.
